CCW EXPO PROVES DEMAND FOR MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS HIGH DESPITE ECONOMIC IMPACT ON ATTENDEE BUDGETS
2009 Show Matches Record Attendance Numbers as Conference-Goers Flock to Javits Center to See the Latest in Media and Communications Technology What: Post Conference Announcement for Content & Communications World (CCW Expo), featuring: HD World, SATCON and IP Media Expo Where: Javits Convention Center - New York, NY, October 14-15, 2009 While financial uncertainty has had executives cutting back on travel and other expenditures, the weakened economic state did little to deter prominent thought-leaders, purchasers and more than 220 exhibitors from attending the CCW Conference & Expo last week. CCW was one of the few shows that experienced growth on multiple levels, including not only its verified attendance, but also the expansion of its conference offerings, the introduction of a new 3D exhibit called 3Demo and more. Organizers for the multi-platform event reported 5,021 were in attendance which reflects a 3% increase in attendees and a mere 5% decrease in exhibitor personnel at the show. Combining three established conferences, CCW brings buyers from several industries into a forum featuring high-level education and technology solutions. Popular end-user panels, group workshops, expert presentations and other networking opportunities helped attendees learn the strategies, tactics and technologies behind this rapidly changing market. Among the categories covered were: - Content Creation
- Production & Post
- Media Management
- Distribution and Delivery
- Infrastructure management
- Satellite, fiber, and hybrid networks
- IP Media

News & Feedback from the show: - "It's actually been a great show this year, excellent quality of the attendees and high volume, it couldn't have been better. We met VP's, CEO level people, Directors of Engineering, our highest quality customers are here." - Rich Zabel, Vice President of Sales for the Eastern Region, Harris Broadcast Communications
- "It's great, it's still a place where we come and find key decision makers. By combining the different shows into one, it really brings a whole new audience to us so we're very happy with the show." - Kurt Riegelman, Senior Vice President, Intelsat
- “We decided to have a big booth again next year because we are very pleased with the results. For companies who don’t do the show, if they asked, we would just tell them we stole all their orders. It’s all about presence and it has to be for the long haul. It’s a tough time, but if you’re here for the long haul you want to keep those relationships going, keep people seeing your equipment - it’s an opportunity for them to see new things you have developed.” -Richard Brice, Senior Vice President of U.S. Sales, Miranda Technologies
- "If you want to stay on the cutting edge of technology, the CCW Expo has it all. From speakers that have been in the industry for decades and all the companies showing their new equipment, you can find everything in one place right here." -Ted Natoli, Senior Control Room Operator, MSNBC
- "SATCON 2009 was the focus for the U.S. Military surrounding the recent DISA/GSA FCSA military satellite communications initiative." - Ted Ventresca's ITNewsBlog / Military Information Technology
