KIOSKCOM SELF SERVICE EXPO, THE DIGITAL SIGNAGE SHOW PLAY HOST TO HUNDREDS OF END-USERS EAGER TO KICK-OFF NEW SELF SERVICE AND DIGITAL DEPLOYMENTS
Industry's Best and Brightest On-hand as Co-Located Events Prove Declining Economy No Match for Quality Deployments TRUMBULL, CT (May 14, 2009) - Distinguished as the leading dual-industry event catering to self service and digital signage audiences, KioskCom Self Service Expo and The Digital Signage Show closed yet another successful co-located conference at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Welcoming more than 1,400 qualified buyers and over 200 exhibitors, this year's event proved that end-users weren't letting economic fears impact their kiosk and digital signage deployment decisions. "This was a great show that allowed vendors and exhibitors to creatively collaborate on top industry trends," says Hadley Green, Project Coordinator for Walgreen Co. "I left the show with multiple contacts and am excited about the potential of the projects discussed." For more than a decade, the event has provided attendees with access to thought leaders, new technologies, forums and case studies from well-known companies including Avery Dennison, Dave & Buster's, Harrah's Entertainment, Hollywood Entertainment, Live Nation Inc., McCarran Airport, Mayo Clinic, Redbox, Rolls-Royce, Sprint-Nextel, SuperShuttle, SanDisk, United States Postal Service, Vanguard Car Rental and more. "There was a little less show traffic compared to years past, but that's definitely to be expected. What I don't think many people expected was to be so happy with that slight decline in attendees," says Tim Burke, President of Ohio-based Electronic Art. "The show's organizers really buckled down on what end-users were allowed into the show and while that resulted in lower attendance it also resulted in much higher quality leads for us." With more than a decade of success coordinating this event, conference organizers were determined to maintain the reputation of being a quality show that delivers effective solutions and leads for its attendees. "This event delivers buyers, plain and simple," said John Petkus, President of Hemisphere West International. "We have attended the show for the past 10 years, and once again, we received our first order, a lead from the show, within a week of the show ending." Each year, one of the highly anticipated events on the conference agenda for KioskCom is the official Self Service Excellence Awards presentation ceremony. The Awards are unique to the industry for their primary focus on both deployers and technology providers. Industry excellence was recognized in seven different categories, and also announced was the Overall Winner and Deployer of the Year. The 2009 winners include: Since 2003, the Self-Service & Kiosk Association has inducted individuals into its Hall of Fame. This year's prestigious honor was extended to three deserving individuals: - Gregg Kaplan - President & COO of Coinstar Inc.
- Rick Malone - Founder & President of KIOSK Information Systems
- Bradley Walker - Founder & CEO of Nanonation
"Our measure of success remains consistent, whether in more favorable times or in the midst of an economic test such as this one. Simply put, ‘did we accomplish the goals of our stakeholders?'" explains Lawrence Dvorchik, General Manager for The Digital Signage Show & KioskCom Self-Service Expo. "The answer, based on the feedback we have heard and read from attendees, exhibitors, speakers and press is unequivocally ‘yes, these objectives were met.'" Dvorchik further added, "our successes in Las Vegas prove that during good times or hard times, we bring our exhibitors face-to-face with quality end-user buyers, decision makers with budgets who are in their prime buying cycles." Named by Tradeshow Week as one of the 50 Fastest Growing Trade Shows in North America three separate times, KioskCom Self Service Expo has continued its reputation as the most critical, strategic, largest and longest running conference and tradeshow for kiosks and self service media and technology, worldwide. The expo has maintained more than a decade of success by delivering critical content and strategies to ensure deployment success directly from end-user companies that utilize these technologies within their organizations. In addition to the spring shows in Las Vegas, both The Digital Signage Show and KioskCom Self Service Expo host a co-located fall event in New York City. This year's event will take place November 10-11, 2009 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
