Innovation and Advancement Leading Themes as School Building Expo Announces 2009 Keynote and Session Line-ups

Event Brings Leading Industry Minds Together to Discuss New Techniques and Trends in School Design

TRUMBULL, Conn. (March 26, 2009) - Organizers for School Building Expo, taking place June 2-4, 2009, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. have announced the keynote roster for this year's event.  Drawing architects, designers, facility planners, construction directors and executives charged with overseeing construction, development and maintenance of educational facilities across the country, the conference serves as the leading resource for concepts related to more efficient and effective facility design.

As the decision-makers and purchasers who plan, design, construct and maintain the public and private educational facilities of tomorrow come together under one roof, event organizers promise a conference line-up that is sure to meet the needs of valued attendees from all sides of the industry spectrum.

"Our event is geared towards helping individuals find the products and solutions they need to complete their facility and design projects, said Jenabeth Ferguson, Event Director for the event.  "Our show is the only event that truly brings today's evolving educational institution marketplace together in an environment where they can learn about new trends, be inspired by exciting speakers and discover the latest products and solutions."

In addition to its impressive Expo Hall offering which features more than 100 exhibitors, School Building Expo brings together an equally impressive mix of sessions and keynotes.  The first keynote of the conference will be presented by Vivian Loftness FAIA, University Professor, School of Architecture, Carnegie Melon.  Vivian is an internationally renowned researcher, author and educator with more than 30 years of experience in environmental design and sustainability.  Additionally, she has specialized in advanced building systems and systems integration, climate and regionalism in architecture, as well as design for performance in the workplace of the future.  Supported by a university-industry-government partnership, the Advanced Building Systems Integration Consortium, Vivian is a key contributor to the development of the Intelligent Workplace - a living laboratory of building innovations for performance, along with authoring a range of publications on international advances in the workplace.

The final keynote of the event will be presented by Gregory Kats, Senior Director and Director of Climate Change Policy, Good Energies.  As a Senior Director at Good Energies, a global private investment firm in renewable and clean energy technologies with $ 5 billion under management, Gregory leads the company's investments in energy efficiency and green buildings.
